Consultancy: Operational Documentation

In the Summer of 2024, we implemented a new digital project management system across our business (see our news post from May this year). This allowed us to centralise project workflows and collaboration, as well as create systems that captured and recorded all stages of our consultancy activity.

Our new project management system was put to work when creating a bespoke documentation development system, that would be necessary to track the entire development lifecycle of a range of operational documents. This included titling, templating, drafting, review capture, sign off, release and publishing to an internal management system.

After establishing a strategy and development plan, we categorised and assigned document development phases in priority order with accompanying lots and references, and then set to work on understanding operational requirements.

Throughout development, we consulted with operational team members, Contract Managers, HSQE and the main Clients, to ensure all commentary and activity, including actions, assigned comments, amendments and versions were tracked, visible and current to stakeholders.
